No! We haven’t dropped off of the face of the planet! No, we are not splitting up. Yes, Rudy has decided to move on and we’re auditioning for a new guitarist.
But that’s not why you haven’t heard from us. We’ve just been busy up to our eyeballs. Thank you for your patience, we love you.
And as an offer of forgiveness... we give you the long awaited “Corporate America” video....

Wow, so the album 72 Hour Vacation was a long time coming, but it’s finally here. We’re oh so proud and hope you guys like it half as much as we do. Although you can’t run into Wal-mart or Target or those types of places to get it, we’ve managed to have it available through iTunes and through CD Baby. Plus, you can always pick up a copy at a live show (and save some $$$ too... we sell ‘em for $6 at shows.)
Speaking of shows, we’ve been really fortunate lately to play at some great venues with some amazing bands. Hopefully you caught us at 1982 in Gainesville, or at Freebird Live in Jacksonville with Less Than Jake. No????
Well, don’t miss tonight’s show! It’s going to be wild! We’ll be playing at The Venue in Gainesville opening up for Reel Big Fish! Hope to see you all there! Check out the Tour listings for details!

Hey Kids! Heads up! Baker Act is oh so close to finishing off that pesky first album “72 Hour Vacation”. Yup, it’s almost here. Hope you’re nearly as excited as we are. Funny enough, we’re already working on music for the 2nd release. Take a peek at our Tour Page for upcoming shows and you may catch us playing new music.
Speaking of almost finished, rumor is spreading about the video for Corporate America. So, it’s totally true. You know it, you folks have been catching us filming here in parts of Jax. There’s still a lot of work to be done and you’ll get plenty of opportunities to get glimpses of us doing shoots around Downtown. We’ll let you know when it’s ready for release!
Other cool news... Baker Act goes on a 72 hour vacation! No, really... Look at the Tour Page, you’ll see.
Okay, so that’s it for now. Keep an eye out for new happenings and we’ll see you at the next show!

So a lot has happened since the last time we checked in....The benefit show was a complete success thanks to so many people!! We raised over $6000 for the shelter. Since then, we have had several shows all the way from Dalton, Georgia to St. Pete. Florida. We are happily traveling back up to Dalton in May to rock that town again! We have updated our myspace several times with new pics, blogs, shows and songs. Our songs are now available on iTunes and Snocap. Anyone with a great sense of humor will enjoy our newest version of Corporate America. (Corporate America x2) We have also been lucky enough to have participated in our first Pride Fest of the year in Daytona. We are definitely looking forward to more of those shows. Also in May, we will be traveling to North Carolina for the first Bushstock, what the hell is that? you say. Well, check out the flier and you’ll figure it out. Anyhoo, we know we have many fans who have been patiently awaiting our CD and we are slowly but surely getting our ducks in a row. Pictures have been taken, songs have been mastered, and finances are slowly coming in to make “72 hour vacation” a reality. On the other side of merchandise, we have steadily been making t-shirts and wifebeaters, hoodies, patches, koozies, handbags, and we have a ton of stickers. So, yeah, we have a lot of new stuff to show you at the next show. Hope to see you May 2nd at 9th & Main!!

Besides 12 kick ass performers, we’ll have all sorts of events going on. There are raffles for prices from local businesses. Air Tat will be there to air brush temporary tattoos on your sexy selves. And Artists have donated their work and there will be a silent auction held for their original pieces.

We are still signing up acts, so check back to see who else we get! Also, keep in mind that proceeds go to Kamp Kritter. That doesn’t mean if you don’t have any cash, you can’t help. Feel free to drop off items at Fuel! They need blankets, dog food, cat food, pet beds, pet toys, combs, brushes, shampoos, treats or any other type of pet supply you’d like to donate to Kamp Kritter.
You guys are awesome for helping out! Puppies worship you.

A few nights ago in Riverside in Jacksonville, there was a major fire at Kamp Kritter’s manager Sue’s home. Kamp Kritter is a local, no-kill animal shelter. The home went up in a blaze at 2:30 in the morning, and she was able to save 10 dogs. 3 cats and 1 dog were not as fortunate, and the shelter has lost everything.
Because member of Baker Act have deep pools of love for all things furry, a benefit show is being put together. That’s right kids, February 2nd at Fuel Coffeehouse in 5 Points! More details to come as we work on gathering other bands and acts. Not to be missed and its for a good cause.. awww.

Be a pal.. e-mail us if you see any mistakes or things that need changing. Pandora’s box may just have been opened by asking that, but go ahead and bring it. And thanks again for the patience and checking in.
